Founded in the late 50s' Lake Havasu City sits on the banks of Lake Havasu, an artificial lake on the Colorado River that was created when the Parker Dam was erected in 1938.
Lake Havasu is a resort city offering everything from magnificent lake and mountain views, golf courses, and water sports to gambling at the casinos in Laughlin, Nevada, only 45 miles away.
Lake Havasu main attraction is the London Bridge. This bridge, almost 200 years old, stood till the late 60s' across the Thames in London England. It was bought by Lake Havasu founders and transferred stone by stone from the old world to the new world.
The old stone bridge standing in the middle of the desert is a surreal, yet pleasing, sight and it complements the city well.
