Kayenta is located in northeastern Arizona, in the heart of the Navajo Reservation, just south of the Utah state line. It sits on the Colorado Plateau at an elevation of 5,600 feet above sea level.
The main point of interest in the area is the Navajo National Monument located about 50 miles west of town. Their visitors will find some of the best-preserved ancient North American cliff dwellings.
Hotels and motels in Kayenta are located along Highway 160 that is the town's main thoroughfare.
